We decided that it is finally time for us to let you in on our daily lives a bit here at Lemons and Steel. So we are going to start with some getting to know me questions. And bravely Kerry volunteered to go first!
Kerry – Co-Founder
Hi I’m Kerry the Lemons part of Lemons and Steel. I am originally from small town Saskatchewan, and currently residing in the good ole Alberta! You’ll quickly find out that I love fashion, social media, blogging, adventuring, traveling to new places, food, people, and creating new memories. I’m a total people person and love to connecting with all of the amazing creative individuals out there. I am also a bit of a shutterbug and am constantly documenting all my experiences and capturing amazing moments.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I love to be outside adventuring and taking photos. If it takes me more than a day to respond to an email I am most likely out in the mountains. Growing up in Alberta, hitting up the mountains for a day trip or the weekend is a common thing for my friends and I to do. Whether it is skiing, hiking, camping, kayaking, or biking I am in. When I have extended free time, I love to travel. So far my country list is at 13 and counting!
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment...that is a tough one. I don’t know if I have a greatest accomplishment. I have done some pretty amazing things so far in my life and find myself continually amazed at the things I get to do for work, and for fun that living each day to its fullest is my greatest accomplishment.
What’s your favorite piece of clothing in your closet right now?
It’s impossible for me to choose a favorite clothing item in my closet. I love fashion and honestly can say I’m a shopaholic. I’m always on the lookout for cute outfits and always stay on top of the latest fashion trends. If I had to choose one piece, I’d say the long knitted hood coat
It is so easy and quick to throw on and can be dressed up with cute jewelry and some edgy leggings. Though most often I wear it dressed down for comfy days with a scarf and jeans.
If you could be an extra on a TV show, what show would you pick?
Right now if I was able to be an extra on any TV show I would pick “Gilmore Girls.” I have re-watched this show on Netflix over and over. It’s honestly one of those shows that can always make you smile and laugh no matter what. Lorali and Rori drink probably about the same amount of coffee as I do in a day so we clearly would bond over that! Or maybe there would be a coffee shortage in Starshollow… that wouldn’t go over well!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and what would you want to see?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, it would be a toss up between Nepal and Maldives. They both offer such diverse adventures but both have something that I love doing (hiking and diving respectfully) that it would be the hardest choice I would have to make. Though with the way the world is going if it was a ticket in my hand today I would go see the Maldives before they are underwater or the coral disappears.
Who is someone you admire and why?
I really admire my mother who honestly has done so much for me. She truly is my biggest supporter and fan. Growing up she always worked but always had time for us and I think that seeing that has shown me that women don’t have to just be a mom. They can work and have an identity outside of the home. She is a very dedicated and hard working woman. I admire her strong work ethic, patience, and her kind and positive attitude towards everything. Without her I would not be here today with this company and on my way to start another.
